A couple of weeks ago, Facebook launched a new and improved search functionality. The previous search function left a lot to be desired and would only auto suggest friends and groups/fan pages that you were a member/fan of.
This latest version of Facebook search now auto suggests the whole network based on your entered characters and even more importantly, is 5 times quicker... Previously, I could type in the first name of a friend and Facebook's search drop down would sometimes take up to 3 minutes to display the friends but now it is lightning quick.
The improved feature gives users a much better chance of finding what they are looking for or alternative suggestions based on their search query without having to navigate to the search page and filtering by category.
I can't remember the last time I was able to compliment a new Facebook update, but this needed doing, albeit some time ago.
